Pardon me if this is not the right forum or is too simple a question, but I haven't used linux for some time.

Now that I can connect to the internet through Xandros I want to download and install linux versions of some of my favorite software - especially the Opera browser and CoffeeCup HTML editor. This is easy enough to do under Windoze, but what directories should I choose under Xandros? How do I determine what other files I might need?
