|

I have been a user of first lindows and now Linspire 6. I had alwayss been able to connect to cnr.com however now that i have my stored pc back up and re-installed my linspire 6 I am not able to connect to cnr.com. Any reason for this?
Am i being blocked by Xandros because I still am using linspire 6? |

My guess would be that Xandros no longer maintains cnr.com. Xandros has gotten out of the desktop Linux business, unfortunately. _________________ I refuse to live in a country like this - and I'm not leaving. - Michael Moore |

CNR is no more.
Xandros intended to have their own software repo similar to CNR, but they have since killed it off.
The only place to get software is thru the ASUS/Xandros remaining repos unfortunately. _________________ Registered Linux User #404122

I have suffered from discontinued repositories, in my instance the inventor had the temerity to die.
My solution was to have a final sweep of whatever you can and put these somewhere secure. Remember that hard disks don't last for ever and how long do memory sticks last for?
I then went on to install a 'minimum' system within a Vmware box which I can use. If the Vmware box evaporates I can go back to my archive and regenerate it.
They say that SSD's are good for 1000000 hrs they should outlast me!

I am curious as to if anyone has the DVD burning codecs for Xandros now that geekydude's geekconnection page is no more.
Asus's Xandros has the same CD burning only limitation that OCE has.
I get around it by using Nero Linux, but I'd like to burn my stuff thru the XFM. _________________ Registered Linux User #404122
