|
|
| I recently switched from Xandros to Ubuntueee. The main reason for this was due to my need for a DVD copying tool and not being able to get K3b to function on Xandros. I am a new comer and don't understand terminal commands. In Ubuntueee it was very simple to use 'synaptic manager' to install and run K3b. However, I now have other issues with Ububtueee and wonder about returning to Xandros. I didn't ever see a 'synaptic manager' system in Xandros but wonder if it did have anything similar. If it did then that's all I need. |

I don't know about the Eee, but all other versions of Xandros have Xandros Networks for installing new software. I assume that's available on the Eee also. You can also install Synaptic, with Xandros Networks if it's available, or at the command line if not. _________________ I refuse to live in a country like this - and I'm not leaving. - Michael Moore |

"Synaptic" is available from "EeePC" repositories. Install it by typing
"apt-get install synaptic" (no qoutes) within console. If a shortcut isnt
installed, launch it with "synaptic" command (in console). _________________ Linux User #432929

In that case if the version of Ubuntu fails that I am installing I will go back to Xandros.
Thanks |
