I recently purchased a Linksys extended range wireless card. Xandros recognized the chipset, but the driver didn't work. I went to Xandros networks (I have a second 4.0 installed on my computer) and found that there was a kernel with the driver for the chipset. I had Xandros Networks to install the kernel. After reboot all I get is "Xandros 4.0 Home Edition Premium Linux on tty1 login:". I can login to root but that doesn't get me to the desktop. I have tried startx and startkde none work. I can load my second Xandros OS and in administrator mode I see lots of locked files. I don't want to reinstall because I have several programs which Xandros will not keep. How or Can I revert back to the old installation? Is there a way to do as Windows "load last known good configuration" by pressing F8?
Thanks,

Have you tried the install-CD:s "Restore Xandros" option?
Or, does the "Configure" (Expert) login alternative work?
Which kernel, 2.6.15UNI or 2.6.18SMP was the original?
And which version did you install instead? _________________ Linux User #432929
