|
|
Hello community!
I was sitting several days in front of my EeePC 701 and I tried and searched and I searched and tried... So, if we can solve this problem, this would be absolutely fantastic.
The problem: I want to convert short (!!!) movies (about 1 Min.), which are AVCHD (.mts or .m2ts) from my camcorder, to Flash-Videos, so I can use them in a Video-Blog.
What I tried:
- I used synaptic to install ffmpeg from this repoitory: deb http://xnv4.xandros.com/4.0/pkg/ xandros4.0-xn main contrib non-free
- I downloaded and installed the Debian-Version of winff from htp://www.winff.org, which is a GUI for ffmpeg
- I got the error "unrecognized option -'flags' ", when I tried to convert a video -> google hardly finds any results for this message
- I tried different things, even compiling ffmpeg myself, but this ended up in a mess, since I have got no experience in Linux and compiling.
- I now restored the factory settings of my EeePC and I hope you can help me.
Who I am: an absolute Linux-Newbie. That's why I'm asking you to switch to the "my grandma has to understand this"-mode in your explanations. Thanks a lot.
So, I am searching for a way to install a ffmpeg as new as possible (because of the AVCHD support) and a GUI.
I hope we can do it!!!
Thanks in advance. |

Ok, thank you so far.
I now included these two repos:
# DEBIAN STABLE (ETCH) repository:
# deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ stable main contrib non-free
# DEBIAN MULTIMEDIA (ETCH) repository:
# deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org/ stable main
In the multimedia repo I found ffmpeg and I installed. As I didn't find winff in the repos, I installed it by downloading from the homepage again.
Now I can convert videos. This is fine. But unfortunately I can't convert my .mts-files. I get this error message:
| Code: | | PAFF deinterlacing not implemented |
How can I install the svn ffmpeg? I mean what do I have to write behind ./configure to have the right codecs installed? |

Ok, I found a HOWTO here: http://tovid.wikia.com/wiki/Installing_svn_ffmpeg_on_a_Debian_based_distro which tells me how to install the svn ffmpeg. Doesn't work for me unfortunately.
Problem:
When typing apt-get build-dep ffmpeg
I get the message, that I have to write more sources into the sources.list
How do I know which package is needed, and where to find it???
Please, help me.
Thanks. |
