Weird problem: I'm running Thinkpad t40 dual boot w/ Xan4.5 and XP. I usually have the machine in my dock, with two screens; the laptop LCD and an external CRT from the docking station. The problem is only with Xandros. XP works fine.
When I disconnect from the docking station and run from battery, the machine boots fine and I can see the verbose loading till it switches to X. Then a blank screen. It apparently isn't recognizing that there is no external. How do I get the laptop display back on? If I put computer back in docking station, the CRT displays fine.
I've tried Fn, shift, control and Alt with all the Function keys to no avail. Help would be appreciated. _________________ Rich |

I have not yet installed my new download to try Xandros, but I am intimately familiar with dual screens and various issues with many versions of X11. I am curious if you simply remove the CRT cable from the dock and connect it to the VGA connector on the laptop if this resolves the issue.
I basically think this boils down to the settings in X11 that qualify which video head is going to which screen. Perhaps if that suggestion works you can post the X11 config file so we can offer some minor alterations to resolve this quirk. _________________ If you aint got nothin, you got nothin to loose. |

Thanks for your response, zoic.
I booted in Safe video mode out of the docking station. That worked just fine. Booting in the docking station in safe video brings both displays up, rather than just the crt. I don't mind this at all. As long as I can get the laptop displaying on its own, I'm happy. _________________ Rich |
