Hi, trying to install Canon LBP3300 laser printer.
Canon website says I should install Ghostscript first.
Where do I find Ghostscript for Xandros?

I'm very new to Linux
Thanks
Greg

Not sure what they mean, but ghostscript fonts, viewr etc. are preinstalled in Xandros, at least in version 4 I am using. Otherwise XandrosNetworks is the place to look in, but you probably need to know a bit more what they are looking for since there are several packages dealing with ghostscript (I guess it is the ghostscript fonts they are refering to).

Yes Arne is correct.
In the old days we would write parameters to the /etc/printcap which would in turn be read by GhostScript.
Now we have Foomatic PDD drivers www.linuxprinting.org

Howerver Canon has less available in Foomatic Drivers.
Here is the Foomatic driver standing
http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Canon-LBP3000
...Paperweight..

BUT I heard of a driver on an Australian website which seems to get thumbs up
Here is the link ...

http://www.canon.com.au/products/printers/laser_printers_low_medium_volume/lbp3000_support.aspx
Click driver downloads then download the driver files

Quote:

The printer driver must be installed in order to print from Canon printers using Linux.
The installed files differ depending on the system environment you are using.

In a Debian environment, install the following files:

* "cndrvcups-common_x.xx-x_i386.deb" : common module for CUPS drivers

* "cndrvcups-capt_x.xx-x_i386.deb" : CAPT printer driver module
