This thread is intended for the single purpose of creating a list of digital cameras that work with Xandros Four. Please feel free to post with information on any digital camera you have used. Replies will have their info added, and then will be deleted. The entries may also be editted by the moderators to remove extraneous information and off-topic posts.
In general, most cameras that connect via a USB cable will work. If the camera is set to "mass storage", it will come up in Xandros File Manager as a "removable disk". There are other ways of accessing camera pictures, e.g., the Digikam program, available from Xandros Networks, while using XFM takes the least fiddling. One tip: when shopping for a camera, take a laptop with Xandros installed on it and test cameras right in the store.
If your camera doesn't work with a "stock" Xandros install, it may work with an updated libgphoto. See this thread for details:

Canon Rebel XTI Photo Manager detects it as a USB PTP; images can be downloaded directly to Photo Manager.
HP Photosmart R742 Photo Manager detects it as a USB PTP class camera; also works via its "mass storage" setting. (With the camera's software, under Camera Setup > USB Configuration > choose Disk drive).
Olympus C-700 connects via USB, shows up in File Manager
Olympus C-750 connects via USB, shows up in File Manager
Phillips Simply Snap and Share keychain digital camera
Sony DSC600
Sony Cybershot DSCW35S didn't work in 'automatic' but 'mass storage' works fine. _________________ I refuse to live in a country like this - and I'm not leaving. - Michael Moore
