What kind of programs are available on the premium editions' application CD? Are they pretty much the same packages as what's available through XN? I'm seriously thinking about upgrading to the full premium edition; but I want to make sure I get my money's worth. _________________ JKA, III

Ambrusch, the Home Edition Premium includes commercial programs and some special Xandros-tweaked versions of non-commercial programs. I personally feel it is well worth the upgrade price.
You'll get the full standard version of Crossover Office, which will enable you to run some Windows software on Xandros, Paragon's software enabling write-access to NTFS file partitions, (important if you are dual-booting with WinXP or Win2000), and the MP-3 encoder needed for ripping music CD's to MP-3 format from Xandros File Manager. You also get Music Manager, a tweaked version of Amarok, and Xandros Xandros Storage Manager, a very useful GUI based drive and partition management tool. While you can get some of these from XN or purchase them separately, with the upgrade, you get them at a bargain package price, and you save a lot of time and effort, by not having to hunt for each of them and install it yourself. There are likely some other packages included which I have forgotten to mention, but I think I have listed the most important ones. More than anything else, it's a matter of convenience, and time-savings. You'll have to decide whether it is worth it to you. Ben _________________
