I want to support a distro that supports multimedia, MS interoperability and a have a good GUI. I used other distros and there okay. You seem to have what I want to support and use.
Problem!!!! I have no sound. I have checked "Kmixer". I also checked the settings in "Sound Settings" and tested sound, no sound. I also consoled and used alsaconf to no prevail.
Sound Driver:3.8.1.a-980706 (ALSA v1.0.13 emulation code
config options: 0
Type 10: ALSA emulation
SiS Sl7012 with ALC203 at 0X1400, irq 185
0:SiS Sl7012 (Duplex)
Synth: Not Enabled
Midi: Not Enabled
0:Realtek ALC203 rev0
Now please help me. I will purchase this if I know that problems will be Solved.

The first thing you want to check is see if your sound is muted.. If you see a speaker with an x on it, this is likely the case.. Unmute it and you should have sound...
If that doesn't work, Try typing alsaconf as root, let it set up your card and report back if that doesn't work.

Try unmuting and adjusting some of the input devices.. For some reason this makes a difference on certain AC97 soundcards... Other than that, I'm out of ideas, other than to possibly reccomend the 4front drivers.. They can be tricky to install though and though not impossible (I just did this recently) they are even more difficult to uninstall and reconfigure alsa.. _________________

I couldn't get my soundcard to work with anything but winxp, reason Dell does a little changing of the soundblaster card to work for them..
I purchased an external soundblaster and it works very well, no problems at all with it..
so if your sound doesnt work a usb external sound blaster works well.
