|
|
I'm running Desktop Deluxe 3.0.
I have a JRE version that apparently is not Daylight Savings Time compliant, nor can I run the Java updater tool against it (the version is too old).
So I did the following:
* Got the latest JRE *.bin binary from java.sun.com
* Got java-packages from Xandros Networks.
I ran fakeroot make-jpkg on the binary this morning.
It created a DEB file, but I got all kinds of locale errors while the perl script ran.
Questions:
Should I be concerned about installing the DEB file?
Has this happened to other people?
Should I back anything up before I attempt to install?
If so, can I just tar the current version of JRE or should I back up the whole system?
thanks. |
