Hey guys, just made a Xandros build of LAME, the encoder necessary for the 'greyed out' mp3 option to become available so you can encode your audio tracks into mp3 format.
Just right-click the following link and 'Save-As'... http://www.vogelefamily.info/xandros/lame/lame-3.97_3.97-1_i386.deb
Then install the package in XN.
Enjoy! _________________

No Prob!
I'm happy to report that this works on both 3.0 and 4.0 systems. _________________

redrum,
THANKS MUCHLY! This was the only caveat I had with the nice machine I was given which is now my sound server. It's running 3.0 and does streaming music great, but I couldn't save cd tracks in MP3....I'm putting everything on a seperate storage drive so I can move it around if I wish.... again, thanks! this just hit the spot and in real time...because I was going to do a search of the forii tonight!
AIN'T XandROS forums moderator persons great!

If you pop in a CD into your computer, when you open the drive in XFM you will see the audio tracks.. Its as easy as dragging those files from the drive to another open folder on your desktop... It will then give you the options of whether you want to copy the song in .wav , .cda (raw) , .ogg , and now .mp3.
Hope this helps. _________________
