If you've been to the Xandros web site lately, you couldn't have failed to notice our "Xandros Desktop: The Choice is Yours" banner, where you can now click to buy a fully-configured Xandros PC from one of the partners in our expanding global network.

And expanding it is. Brian Colgan of Partner and Corporate Sales gets so many partnership applications that it's hard to keep up. According to Brian, "It's incredible, with hardly any publicity, we've been flooded with partner inquiries from all over the world." Brian has already signed up firms across North America, and on to Europe, Africa, and Asia/Pacific, and he and others on the Xandros team are in discussions with several distributors around the world to further broaden our reach.

Xandros partners can be OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), retailers, or both. A growing list of OEM partners let you configure your Xandros PC online, with a choice of processor, memory, hard drive, monitor and so on.

Why would a firm want to offer fully-configured Xandros Desktop PCs? When we asked Chris Shank of ACE Technology Group in Paoli Pennsylvania, he gave us a thoughtful response:

"I like Xandros because it offers a standards based desktop Linux (based on Debian) with a high degree of Windows integration and compatibility. The
Xandros team has wrangled in the complexity of the Linux application base to provide a succinct experience for my clients. Xandros saves me time and aggravation because I don't need to tweak the desktop to remove all the duplicate and unnecessary packages or confusing menu items. The inclusion of the CrossOver utilities also allows my clients to use the business tools to which they are accustomed. And Xandros File Manager, with it's excellent Windows and Linux integration, allows for easy network resource browsing. Xandros Linux is an excellent product and I eagerly await the next version. I think it will continue to raise the bar for desktop Linux."

Interesting point: by delivering what the users need, we make life easier for our partners as well!
