Thought this might be of help if anyone else has sound problems
Just up graded to X4 on my laptop and lost sound again. THis was same problem I had after upgraded Kernel with X3 (see http://forums.xandros.com/viewtopic.php?t=16931) and was easily fixed by using alsaconf in an administrator/root console (for those whom are are unsure click launch select applications->system->administrator tools->console (administrator) . You'll need your administrator password to log in then just type alsaconf and follow it through)
My laptop is a 3-4 yr old tosh satellite 1110 Z14 with an intel sound chip (Sound is listed as intel 82801CA-ICH3). But others had same problem.
Hope this helps if someone else gets stuck _________________ Shaken not Stirred |

if you need to run alsaconf to get your sound working it may be worth your while to run
alsactl store
afterwards. This will store your new sound driver settings so they're still there after a reboot (not necessary on all systems but it was with mine on xos3) _________________ (expert with questions)
