I have installed xandros desktop os/oc version 3.
I cannot connect to the internet now.
I use connection wizard and it gets to hardware detection and number detected is 0.
I am using intel d946gz1ssl motherboard.
I do not have alot of experiance with xandros, but am learning.
Thanks any help greatly appricated.

Hi Dave,
Welcome to the friendliest forums on the net!
I don't know much about this subject, but I'm just curious as to why you chose to install Xandros 3.x instead of 4.1 OCE?
Lots of work went into networking and wireless stuff in Xandros 4, and may provide you with some better options...
You can download Xandros 4.1 OCE from my website:
http://www.geekconnection.org
There's lots of good stuff there...
Check it out!
Otherwise, someone will surely be along to help you out soon! _________________ geekydude

I don't know if I (or others can help, but I do know you need to be
more detailed.
Is it ethernet? modem? wireless? etc?
The motherboard is probably not as important as what type of connection
you have.
Btw, I agree with geekydude that you should try Xandros OCE 4.1 or
the 30-days trial of Xandros 4.
How old is your computer? If fairly recently (less than a year old), distros,
that came out after when the PC comes out, often have better hardware
supports.

hello
I had ver. 3 bussiness on my computer oringinally. When I changed the motherboard and cpu (Intel Core2 Duo 6600 2.4Ghz Soc. 775) I could not get it to reload again. I went to library and got Xandros book with CD in back of book (ov 3) tried it, it worked. Then I was going to reload version 3 business again but had no connection to internet to do so (high speed cable). I will download 4.1 oce and hope this works.
Thanks for the help. Dave |
