Not sure if this should go into this section, games or suggestions. Anyway, this is a nice, very comprehensive package of kids games. You'll find it on the unsupported area of XN, search GComris. There's a chess section that also needs Gnuchess (also through XN)
The site has 10 language options so I imagine the program is available in 10 languages.

May be a nice one for Xandros to review and maybe move into the supported list.
My 7 year old grandson had an hour playing with it yesterday and rated it 'COOL'. It didn't make 'AWSOME' but hey - it's educational ..........

My 4 year old daughter loves this program too. Unfortunately I had to move away from Xandros to Ubuntu so she could play it. I had the OCE edition of Xandros installed and it just kept exiting from Gcompris and going back to the desktop whilst she was playing. I tried everything to fix it but couldn't.
I like Xandros better than Ubuntu so I would like to try again. Do any other users use Gcompris with OCE, and does it run well?
Thanks. |

| I ran GCompris with Xandros 2.01 OCE with no problems - on varied older hardware (as ancient as a P2!). I don't have any cutting-edge stuff. |

Are you guys able to switch languages in GCompris? I downloaded language packs, but I can only use English. If I want to switch to French, for example,
it does not work (i.e., all texts and sounds are still in English). This happens in both X2 (older version og Gcompris) and in XN. Am I missing something? |

To be honest I've never tried - english speaking family. I'd be surprised if you can't get a French version to work - the app was developed in France wasn't it ? _________________ Dave Blythin.
