| Never heard of it. What is it, and where is it available? |

I haven't tried it, but it shows up in XN with the Debian unsupported site enabled, so it will likely work OK. I went and had a look at:
http://www.scilab.org/
and I might just have to install it myself.

Scilab is the open source alternative for Matlab. Basically, it is used for mathematical and engineering calculations. _________________ "Worship God, not Pink Floyd" |

I installed Scilab using XN but it installed version 2.7. I went to the Scilab website and downloaded the 3.1.1 version binaries and had no luck installing. Can anybody give me any insight on how to do this? _________________ 220 Gigabyte total hard drive storage (3 drives), 1.24 gigabyte memory, 2.8 GHz P4, Soyo Dragon motherboard, Nvidia GeForce FX.
