I downloaded and installed the Xandros-provided ALSA update. Now I have no sound.
Any thoughts on what to try next? |

Well, can you pist the [audio.1] section from your /etc/devices/devices.inf file here ,and tell us what kind of sound card you have.
Also, if you can run the console command cat /proc/asound/cards and post the results here that might help too.
You have no sound at all - or is it specific applications that cant play sound ?

Sound card is Soundblaster Live! and I have no sound at all under Xandros.
[audio.1] section of devices.inf file:
desc = Sound Blaster Live!
driver = snd-emu10k1
manu = Creative Labs
pci = 0x1102, 0x2, 0x78
Output of cat /proc/asound/cards:
0:[card 0]: USB-Audio - AK5370
AKM AK5370
1 [first]: EMU10K1 - Sound Blaster Live!
Sound Blaster Live! at 0x1420, irq4
Card 0 really is an integral part of a USB microphone. |

Matt,
Sound returned when I unplugged microphone before booting.
Thanks very much for your help. I hope they make you CEO of Xandros-- since keeping customers happy is what it is all about!
