Hi all,
I've just setup a new website.
As promised in another thread, I've begun creating debs for those who would like an easy way to download and install "the pretty stuff" that is missing in Xandros Networks.
Please check out my new site: http://www.geekconnection.org/
I'll be continually adding more packages over time, and I've purchased lots of disk space and bandwidth, so please feel free to download all you want!
Let me know what you think and what you'd like to see added, as it is still fairly crude and under development. _________________ geekydude

I'd like to mirror packages produced by yourself and other users who have created debs also.
It's always nice to have a back up site since XN and archlug sometimes have downtime.
Thanks for the kind words! _________________ geekydude

Hooray for geekydude!
You're welcome to mirror the Rosegarden deb I mention here:
http://forums.xandros.com/viewtopic.php?t=29630
And I'll probably have more stuff as time goes on.

Sorry for the double post, but can someone recommend a good graphical FTP program?
Kbear seems to have serious issues with sending two times in a row and crashing during the second send.
Thanks in advance! _________________ geekydude

Yeah, $29.95 seems a bit steep for an FTP program, but it looks nice!
I think I'll give gftp a try and see how I like it.
Thanks for the info! _________________ geekydude

And if you can get it to stay open longer than 3 minutes, there is "Kbear", a native KDE app which supports multiple open FTP windows at once... well that's the theory! It seems rather unstable to me. You can get it from un-supported reps.
Personally, I use gFTP as has been suggested already. Very good, very stable. |

Thanks for the recommendation, as Kbear is the reason I'm looking for something else. _________________ geekydude

geekydude,
Well done, your site looks great. I have saved it in the Bookmarks under Xandros - where else?
I will recommend it to a colleague at the local high school. I have just set up his computer with Xandros 3.02 OCE.

Good to hear, but please use caution about installing some things in Xandros 3.02, as some of this stuff has been compiled for Xandros 4.
I'm glad you like it! _________________ geekydude

Perhaps you could color code the downloads... This would help folks differentiate between X3 specific, X4 specific and packages known to work on both...
