I would really like to see some foreign language programs added to the Xandros Network.
Spanish, German, Greek etc.

You may want to try
http://www.lingoteach.org (for Spanish, German and others)
http://pythonol.sourceforge.net (for Spanish)
Also, there was an interesting discussion on slashdot.org
titled "Learning a New Language Using Open Source?", you should be able to find it
using their search facility (under "old stories"). |

|
|
I recently installed a good German dictonary, called ding. It's available on the Debian Unsupported repository.
Just install via Xandros Networks (or apt-get install) the following packages:
ding
agrep
dict
trans-de-en
then you can access the dictionary with the ding on the command line.
For Japanese, there is are useful utilities: kiten (a dictionary) and kdrill, a Japanese alphabet learner. Both are also installable via XN or apt-get.
I don't yet know any tools for any other languages, but those above are readily available. |
