On June 4 it will be 5 years since Xandros signed their 5 year agreement with Microsoft. All the cynical naysayers said it would be the end of Xandros. But lets just take a couple of minutes to review the state of Xandros and reflect back on how that decision has helped Xandros to prosper...

...wait a minute, never mind.

OK, so since Microsoft appears to have successfully killed Xandros, and they no longer have use for them, what will happen when the MS deal expires in June.

A) It will be renewed and nothing changes
B) It will not be renewed and nothing changes
C) The world ends in Dec 2012 anyway so who cares
D) Xandros has seen the light and will resurrect the Xandros desktop

I've put the above items in the order I think is most likely, but what are your thoughts on the subject?

Tough to say what will happen. Hell, it's tough to say what has happened. Xandros could be rolling in dough for all we know, or it could be the Microsoft deal is the only thing keeping them afloat. They don't tell the public much. Wish I owned a few shares of Xandros stock and could go to some of the meetings!

Of course, I wish Xandros would get back into the desktop Linux business, but I don't think that's very likely.

I would like to see 'D' "Come back Xandros all is forgiven."

There again Google might take over Microsoft - that would be nice.

I like that idea of someone else taking over MS. Is this a rumor or a business discussion based on current apps taking over.

Would that not be nice? No more blocking of software competition with wild patent claims of convenient buyouts of brands that then get lost into the MS monopoly empire. To me much of MS is from other apps that could out perform the MS versions. Buy them out, squees out the technology, claim it to by MS apps, let the original app name disappear. Over and over and over.

An open market would be better for all of us. It has already started with the current explosion of hand held devices and their links to lap tops and desk tops.

Just need to get the MS monopoly softened up and put out some finished products that work cleanly. Let the public declare the winners with their pocket books. Why not a Xandros Linux finished product once again.

Personally I think Google is worse than Microsoft. Sure Microsoft has obsorbed a lot of companies and resold their technology as their own. I even think MS has used their OS monopoly as an unfair business practice. But given a chance, Google will be even worse than MS. Google is accumulating all the personal data they can get from you, MS as least didn't store all your personal data. They just wanted to sell software. It also it seems to me that Google has taken the Linux code to make Android, but then closed it so they are the only ones who control it. If my only choices were between supporting Google or supporting Microsoft, I would support Microsoft.

News from the dancing boss - onkel Fester:
VATICAN in pact with the C(R)ASH empire Shocked

Was MAYA referring to this, as the words end Confused ?

I voted earlier for "It will not be renewed". But with
this knowledge, it should have been "who cares"...
