| I just put the Open Circulation Edition of Xandros on my home computer and it works just fine. My question is about the library of applications in Xandros Networks. The advertisement on the Xandros web site says that "hundreds" of applications are available. But when I log in I only see a couple of dozen at most. Usually when I start my Xandros Networks I see a little pop up which says "rebuilding software library" or something like that. It seems to be working fine, and in fact I added a second web site to find Debian applications and it successfully installed Wine for me from that site. Is the default web site which comes with the Open Circulation edition not the correct one? Do I have to pay a fee or something first? Or is their web site advertisement just being a little over generous with the numbers? Thanks. |

ItsMike, if you are using a version of Xandros earlier than 4.5, do not use the repositories suggested by Doctore. But if you are using version 4.5, the latest version, the good Doctore has all the info you could ask for about it!
When you open Xandros Networks, you should see a text box for a search function in the upper right hand corner. Search by program name, function, or keyword, and you should find LOTS of applications available. _________________ I refuse to live in a country like this - and I'm not leaving. - Michael Moore |
