New install of Xandros on machine intended to access Internet via Belkin G Wireless USB Network Adaptor to my DLink DI24 router. Connectivity works fine on parallel Windows XP partition but can't seem to make the connection on Xandros Connection Wizard for LAN-Wireless. I've entered and rechecked the required IP Address, Subnet, and Default Gateway for Static IP address but still no success. Can someone give me a clue on what I'm doing wrong? Much appreciated! _________________ Jack Teems |

I'm using (trying to use ) Xandros Pro V4. It's out of the box and 2 years old, so I know it needs a lot of updates, but of course I can't do that without getting on the Net. Therein lies my dilemma. _________________ Jack Teems |

I had problems getting my mother's wireless system to work, and solved it by compiling the most recent drivers for it, which I downloaded from the company's website. Unfortunately, I am having a mental block right now and can't say the name of the brand, but it's the one that is now a division of Cisco. Maybe you need more recent drivers? _________________ I refuse to live in a country like this - and I'm not leaving. - Michael Moore |

Outdated drivers could be a problem, but not likely since the wireless connection works fine on the Windows XP I'm using in a separate partition on the same computer, same network adaptor. I would rather think it's a problem in setting up the connection with the Xandros wizard, perhaps a setting I've botched or a step I've overlooked? _________________ Jack Teems |

| Did you get this resolved? If not, did you check that Xandros is correctly recognizing your wireless adapter? Many wireless adapters are not supported by linux, and older kernels (like that used in Xandros 4.0) have less support for current wireless adapters. So a wireless adapter can work great in Windows, but not in Xandros because there is no driver in the linux kernel. |

Do you have an idea which USB wireless adaptors might work with Xandros? _________________ Jack Teems |
