I am a newbie to Xandros. I have an eee pc and I run it in advanced mode. I thought it might be advisable to update my Firefox - because it is being updated as I speak on my Ubuntu machine.
On my Ubuntu machine I use Update Manager - but I cannot find anything like this on my notebook.
Have checked the Forum and it tells me I must log in as Root. Is there a Newbie guide I should be looking to?

The eeepc doesn't have a root. If you update with Synaptic it probably asks you for a root password. If you're on the console you can use "su" or "sudo". How were you trying to update, with what process or steps?
