I would respectfully request that the moderators please consider the totality of this post and not look at it from a political bias.

I just spent two hours in a meeting of people who MAKE DECISIONS about the where U.S. education will go in the next five years...

THE REST OF THE WORLD SHOULD BE AFRAID....VERY AFRAID....

Which country prints the most books in the world?

The U.S.

The U.S.

Beware...........Beware........... Beware...........

This history starts in with the Kennedy Administration in the 1960's.

Kennedy said that the United States was behind Russia.

Kennedy never ADMITTED that the people in the U.S. and U.S.S.R. that put people in space and men on the moon were educated in the "old" education system.

Kennedy wanted to "change" education in the U.S. He had to get ELECTED....he said that the United States needed a NEW education system.

This lead to "new" math and "new" science and later, "new" history and "new" english.

The rest of the Presidents, we will not mention them, let things kind of go on.

President Clinton placed millions into the education system to buy votes.

President Bush (2) had to so ANYTHING other than what Clinton was doing so President Bush started "no child left behind".

All of this plays into the teacher unions.

Because of what Clinton spent on education and what Bush spent on education:

The teacher unions "prove" that a teacher is teaching by merely checking off a box that says that the teacher has done something.

NOTICE.....the union method does not PROVE that the teacher has taught something. The requirement is that the teacher has to merely DO the item.

Obama..... from the opposite direction is planning to dismantle President Bush's "no child left behind". Obama is going to REPLACE it with "student activism" in the form of "Americorps" in which the child in the first grade will have a science class that emphasizes "global environmental activism".

The FIRST GRADE students will be given uniforms!

I MEAN.... UNIFORMS!!!!!???? This from a professor at YALE UNIVERSITY......

The students will be required to attend classes which teach that they should try to change the awareness of the world about the environment.

Ok.......YOU say....."What does this have to do with me?

NOTHING....

The U.S. can print MILLIONS of books.... in SPANISH.... and English....

The U.S. WILL......PRODUCE........MILLIONS of books that are in SPANISH!!!!!!!!!

Where..........will these books go?:

They will not "GO" to the U.S.

MOST OF THE PEOPLE IN THE U.S. speak....ENGLISH....

If you wish to attract native Spanish speakers to this thread, I'd suggest that rather than relying on Google Translator or Babel Fish (or whatever you're using), you first change the thread's title to something non-nonsensical. Possibilities:

¡Padres, lean esto!
¡Padres, lean esto sin falta!
Padres de familia: ¡Leer sin falta!

As it currently stands -- Padres leídos -- it means 'well-read parents.'

The same holds true for the Portuguese-language post. Acceptable translations:

By the way who cares if we print books in spanish? Like that's a bad thing. The more knowledge the world has the better. Matters not where they were printed.
