I have an Acer Extensa 5630-6906/windows vista premium notebook.
I have tried to install from a cd Xandros 4.0 professional edition, the program loads to tell me there is no mirrow. can't work from there.
Any ideas in how to prep for this newer notebook?

By the way the program works greath on my older desktop dell ispiron?

I have no specific knowledge of that laptop, but I do know that Xandros 4.0 will not run on some of the newer hardware. But, version 4.5 probably will. You can download it from the GeekConnection:

There are two different versions; the original DVD-sized ISO, and the CD-sized ISO created by Doctore. Either should do you.

Hi blackbird and welcome to "Xandros" user forums!

"Xandros 4.0 Professional" uses kernel 2.6.18SMP, which is too old
for your hardware. Instead, try the new "Xandros Desktop 4.5 OCE"
with kernel 2.6.24SMP (including newer drivers).
