They list a version for Xandros 1 also, but it won't run because X1 doesn't have all the needed libraries. All other versions up through the 9.5 series will run fine on X1. _________________ I refuse to live in a country like this - and I'm not leaving. - Michael Moore |

I can't believe you still have a working Xandros 1 install to test on. I still have 2, 3, 4, and 4.5 boxes in use myself. Of course I was not a huge fan of Xandros 1 myself. _________________

I installed X1 on one of my work computers right after it came out, and have just never had any reason to replace it. It does what I need it to do, and does it well. You know what they say: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. _________________ I refuse to live in a country like this - and I'm not leaving. - Michael Moore |

For that reason, I haven't bothered to upgrade to Xandros 4. This old 3.02 OCE box still runs like a champ. _________________ The answers are out there. You just have to know how to find them.

That downloading via BitTorrent or from FTP / HTTP source? FTP / HTTP try another server closer to where you are or if there is only one location it could be a slow connection (you can test by pinging or traceroute'ing to the server).
If BT then be sure to have the ports setup for forwarding in your router and that the local firewall is setup to allow BT to run as client and server (i.e. must be able to accept incoming connections). Usual range is 6881 - 6889 though your ISP may block it.
Finally, if you are a crappy ISP, it may be doing protocol filtering and artificially screwing up a BT transfer or at least actively crippling the bandwidth. If that is the case, try a different range.
