Came across this CD ripper: RubyRipper. That works similiar to Exact Audio Copy. It has freedb meta tag lookup. It tests your tracks and compares chunks for a secure rip before it writes. You can rip to virtually any codec you want. Probably worth a look. I could only get version 0.4 working; You know old dependencies. But it's still a nice program. For what it's worth department. Right now there up to version 5.3 I think. Maybe get those 4.5 users to test it out for fun.
