The base is ready but need complementing packages to reach at least
the same usability of the older "Xandros 4.0-4.2" versions.
So, keep it simple with only the installation packages name (the package that
automatically installs all necessary dependies), package version and from which
server or repository it can be downloaded and installed from. Also packages
that converts without problems with the "Alien" trick and from which server.
Of course also those packages that only succeeds with compiling.
And when it has matured - maybe one of the forum moderators can move it to
the non editable "OCE" section, hopefully within a few days...
Have a lot of stuff ready but will post it tomorrow. "God-natt gubbar" |

If you can put together applications and any required dependencies, I'd be glad to host them as a repository!
I don't have the time to work on building the repository of apps right now because I'm working on the Klikit StoreHouse and the release of Klikit 0.1-9RC2.
But if you are willing to upload the stuff to an FTP account, I'll create a usable Apt repository and host it.
Please email me if you wish to work on it together, and I'll setup an FTP account for you and email you the account info.
Perhaps it may eventually become a repository that a future StoreHouse project can use. _________________ geekydude

I have had good luck with most of the stuff from GeekDude's web site although I have had to convert it to rpm and then back. Certain things I can't get to work are superkaramba and kde-icons-nuvola it doesn't convert with alien. _________________

xsane .0994 installs and works with out incident. Got it from redrum repo. He had complied it for Xan 4.1. It is also avaiable from geekydude repo.
There is a newer version out .0995. do not know if it could be converted to use with 4.5 _________________ Moving On Up....to Ubuntu 10.04 |

Maybe it's this command line
| Code: | | dpkg --get-selections |
Hope you meant that, or I'm on the wrong track _________________ Visit my homemade webpage!

latest version of Picasa( 2.7) seems to install and work. You wil have to make a menu entry as it fails to do that for you.

Which version of Superkaramba did you use? I tried it and it would install but not run. _________________

I downloaded SuperKaramba from www.debian.org
Here is the direct link to the version I tried
http://packages.debian.org/etch/i386/superkaramba/download
Then you just have to convert it through Alien
| Code: | alien -r --scripts "filenaname.deb"
"filename.rpm generated" and then write
alien --scripts "filename.rpm"
filename.deb generated |
Without "" then
Just a tip how to convert for people who haven't done it before _________________ Visit my homemade webpage!

It's already a .deb why convert it to .rpm and back to .deb again?

I imagine it is because it fixes some dependency issues.. The deb is likely compatable, but the dependencies say it isn't.. This is one way people have hacked the package to fit.. It doesn't always work, but in this case it must.. _________________

If you re-convert it, it changes the dependency for the file, and works most of the time to re-convert the files to fix the issue _________________ Visit my homemade webpage!

Hi SarahsDad, did you use the "RPM" or "TAR.GZ" when you installed Citrix? _________________ Linux User #432929
