Am just about to buy an Asus Eee and have discovered that it comes with Xandros Linux Pre Installed. My understanding from what I'm hearing from many other people is they are prefering to keep it installed on there system and I was wondering if it was possible to setup an exclusive Forum topic for these people in this forum I know you may argue that they can use the regular topics for their posts or that there are already plenty of other forums out there for the same thing but some points I would like to raise are.
1. The asus Eee has a very small hard drive 4Gb in most cases so the programs have to be smaller and more aimed at peoples needs than regular distribution software.
2. This is from my understanding the official Xandros forum so why not welcome these new group of people it will be a plus for not only the Xandros distribution but also the Linux community as a whole
3. Theres gonna be alot of new linux users out there asking some wierd questions (I remember when I first started using linux) and it is quite helpfull to be able to easily obtain answers specific to your computer (which I found quite difficult as at the time I was running an extremely high end system) when posting in forums |

Well, I know nothing of the Asus Eee beyond what has been posted here. My gut feeling is that keeping to the mainstream Xandros topics is more likely to be helpful to Asus Eee users that having their own section in the forum.
Here's one reason why: I visit about 4 forum topics when I get here, I suspect many others have limits too. No way am I gonna try & visit a fifth. I just don't have the time. If you post where I can see it, I may try to help (& so will many others) .
You get your own topic & you're gonna miss some of the most experienced Xandros users still on this board.
Your call, but you probably will have better luck with the full community behind you.

I just click on "View posts since last visit" and see all the new posts, and open the ones that look like I might be able to help, or look interesting. I don't limit myself to specific areas of the forums.

That's what I do- on every forum I hang out on- just read the new posts.
The only problem I have with that is I often miss the specific forum it is posted to- which gives some info about problems. _________________ --

| Yeah after thinking about it and stuff yeah I agree with the replies here even though the version running on the Eee is different from the standard version it is still better to have the full community behind you plus like someone else mentioned the eeeuser forum does look also quite helpful and getting alot of use |
