Ah, thank you.
I installed the C/C++ Development Tools.
I solved part of the problem, but the Perl Script that I'm running spat out other annoying errors of files and directories that had not been set up. It's anyone's guess how the Perl Script writer(s) expected things to be set up already, but I guess they were on other Linux distros.
Am currently checking the VMware forum for assistance. |

It shouldn't be that hard to setup VMWare; it's true that most Xandros users don't compile anything, so the tools are left out, but the development tools are really easy to install.
Did you install the Debian Development tools as well? Just install all the development tools in the development section, so you're not missing anything. _________________ Linux simply works for me...

Has anyone been able to install the VMWare tools with a Linux guest operating system. Xandros is the host and I have Ubuntu, Mepis and Windows 2K installed as guest OS's. The VMWare tools installed ok in the windows os but I can't seem to get them installed in the linux os's.

I just found neu2linux's howto in another thread. I'll give that a try.

neu2linux's howto is really complicated and it's dated Oct 2005, Is it still applicable? My VMWare install was from Boylinux's howto.

Hi,
I am having the same problem as arnoldjames 31st December 2006
Code:
What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running
kernel? [/usr/src/linux/include]
THAT is the location BUT my system is 2.6.11-x1 whereas the version.h file says 2.6.11
What do I have to do to get round this?
Thanks
regards

Hi,
I have answered my own query.
What I did, was to edit version.h file and append -x1 to version string.
This seemed to work and I now have vmware server up and running.
regards
