Ten (Now Fifteen) Screensavers... 1-1/2 Hours to build everything... Its got to be a record, lol...

Anyways here are ten different screensavers you can try out for Xandros... They are static builds, so they should work out of the box... You may need OpenAL for the Really Slick Screensavers, and the sound is a bit scratchy, since I compiled the thing with Arts so the sounds would work all the time. You don't have to have OpenAL installed though, you just won't get sound. Kanjisaver needs the Chineese fonts installed in order to function properly, so if you deselected those, pop in your Xandros cd and install them before installing it... Other than that, the rest *should* work out of the box just fine...

As with all my builds, these are unsupported, and if it breaks you get to keep both pieces.
I have them both available individually, or all wrapped together as a big tarball (minus the 11th-15th additions). Your choice!
The Screensavers available are:

1. Flower Attack
2. Kanjisaver
3. Kannasaver
4. Kcad
5. Kcometen
6. Kglwatersaver
7. Kogs
8. Qstars
9. Reallyslickscreensavers (A Four-Pack including Helios, Lattice, Plasma and Skyrocket)
10. Tuxsaver
11. Smoothslidesaver Added 11-22-06
12. Kbiof Added 12-29-06
13. Kflocks Added 12-29-06
14. KFieldlines Added 12-29-06
15. KMatrix3D Added 1-31-07

P.S. to dowload the .debs, its best to right-click and 'save as'
P.P.S. The sourcecode was all downloaded from http://www.kdelook.org Thanks to the respective authors!

While you're at it, why not download my Xandros Antivirus replacement as well. I now have builds for 4.0 and 3.0 OCE Wink

Enjoy!

Hi redrum,

Thanks for your hard work on these screensavers!

Would you be so kind as to include the latest electric sheep screensaver as well?

http://www.electricsheep.org/

It's a great screensaver. Razz

a comment and a question

The tux screensaver is really great, it take s LOOOOONNNGTGGG time for the thing to "cycle" through, most of that "type" of screensaver takes about...oohhhh thirty seconds !! this thing just goes on and on and on... GREAT..FUN...screensaver...

just a question, does the guy that built it work on other projects?

EDIT:

Just as an aside, because of the particular motion of it, I decided that what I PARTICULARLLY would like to use for my first set of pics was illustrations from the books and magazines made for kids, and adults about the great "future" space advnture, Bonstell and all those greats....except for some of the gifs being so small they come out jaggy it works and LOOKS great!

thanks again...

ain't XANdros grEAT!

To be honest, I wouldn't know, since I just pulled all of these off of kdelook site.. I never bothered to actually check the guy's website... It appears his page is down, and searching through google it appears this was his soul contribution.. Quite a good one though Smile

I have kind of come to the conclusion that the cycle time for the tux screensaver is somewhere around 15 minutes...

HOWEVER....that does not also take into account all the hats.... the several boats.... the...well I won't say what so I won't spoil the fun....

and a variety of other pans, zooms etc. that...seemingly, randomly, crop up....

I've got it set to come on in five minutes and the problem is that I'm working at my desk and often miss stuff cause the puter is off to the side.. Smile but still lotsa fun...that guy earned his stripes...

Aain't Xandros greAT!
