And I've just refreshed the mirror of xandros.or.id to the ArchLUG repository and rebuilt the indexes, so it should just be an apt-get away. _________________ Thanks for all the fishes, Xandros. |

You've must of been real patient in compiling that one, as it had too many compile time dependencies for me to finnish it, as I had a go at it myself.
I don't see any announcements in any of the other forums saying that cinelerra 2.0 is now available. People have been begging for this kind of application for a while now, someone should make an annoucement in a forum that gets read a lot like the Off Topic forum. |

Andrew or Mike:
Is anyone able to actually USE Cinelerra for home movie projects? I've heard that it is a very difficult program to use for the 'average joe.'
Any comments? Any suggested reading on how to use it successfully?
Thanks.

Personally; I use VirtualDub & TMPGEnc via Crossover Office (Crossover Office requires extra codecs to be installed though); these may install a lot better in a Parallels - Windows virtual machine.
Last I looked there wasn't any easy to use video editing software for Linux; keep in mind that applications installed into Crossover Office will run pretty close to the speed of native Linux applications. _________________ Linux simply works for me...

I was hoping to do it in Linux. I have a Win2K box that I keep on the network for compatibility reasons. You don't get better compatibility than that. Just wanted to do it all in Linux.
The tools are coming. Kino is getting better, and I like the way it is laid out. Maybe one day....

Yep; something will come out eventually, but we could end waiting years...
It all comes down to supply (Linux software devellopers) & demand (more paying customers converting from Windows to Linux). _________________ Linux simply works for me...
