| Hello, I'm using OCE 3.0.2. After a fresh install xandros recognizes my sound blaster audigy 2 value sound card, but it doesn't work. When I select it from the mixer window, I have no sound. After a little poking around, someone suggested disabling my on board audio device, and bam sound works. Is this the right way to get the sound to work, or is there a different/better way? I guess it's not a problem just to disable the onboard sound as you only need one sound card anyway, just wanted to know what the experts could come up with regarding this issue. Thanks for any feedback. Also, I haven't gotten this machine online yet so I don't know if it needs updated packages/software that may factor in to this situation. That's due to a wireless situation that I'm working on getting fixed as we speak. Anyway, thanks again. |

Yeah, that's as good a way as any. It is possible to have more than one sound card in Linux, but it takes a little tinkering to do it. If you don't need both sound cards, just disable the onboard sound.
