I've installed on a Compaq Armada M700 notebook. Trying to use either a Compaq WL100 or WL110 wireless PC card causes the computer to hang. Running iwconfig from the command generates a warning that the wireless extension was built with version 12 but we're running version 13 so things may be broken.
The only way I can run is wired but wireless is important to the way I need to run and, theoretically, is a supported form of networking. How can I get this resolved? _________________ Randall Barth |

The message from iwconfig is:
Warning: Device eith1 has been compiled with version 13
of Wireless Extension, while we are using version 12.
Some things may be broken... _________________ Randall Barth |

| I have seen this same error often in various distros when I use wifi and it's never been a problem. My RH 8.0 installation, for example, give me that error but I have wifi working fine. I think you can ignore it. In other words, if you have wifi connection problems, I don't think that error is the reason why. |
